“Very timely subject. Please define as you are using it ‘YOUR CREATOR’. This is a key concept and somewhat vague in the way you use it.”
I chose to use the same word used in the Declaration of Independence which seems more encompassing and not favoring one religion. The DofI was written to be inclusive of any possible future belief systems. Isn’t atheism a belief system that simply lacks a god-being? For the atheist, the creator could easily be the parents. Does not the choice of words by Jefferson still work in today’s world! I chose to use ‘your creator’ because it is the best way to remain true to the intent of our right to freedom of religion.
“Can we claim state citizenship with our jobs and not have to pay the ridiculous fed taxes?”
First and foremost, please pay all the taxes that you are liable for… as citizens it is our responsibility.
I can think of at least two possible scenarios, not mutually exclusive either, that could result in the average person not having to pay the federal income tax. First, if it can be shown that a state citizen, who has an unlimited power to contract as a fundamental right <article>, no longer falls under the jurisdiction of Title-26, then they would not have to pay it.
A second scenario is that, since Title-26 is NOT positive law, the IRS could be eliminated by Congress. I answered another tweet today (2/13/2023) about a Congressional Bill introduced that would eliminate the Dept of Education. This was the whole point of my article, Half the USCode are rebuttable presumptions. The US Code Titles that have not been fully enacted into positive law can be challenged; they are only prima facie evidence of the law. I think it’s obvious that eliminating half the USCode would massively shrink the federal government.
I don’t think eliminating the IRS entirely is realistic — business entities that make a profit have ‘income’ and would still be liable for the tax. But we all know that businesses don’t really pay taxes, they just pass the expense onto the person buying their products. Besides, how would import and excise taxes, which are perfectly legal, get collected? We need some government entity to collect other kinds of taxes. How this shakes out is open for debate/discussion… and that is good.
Have you heard of the common law concept of ‘allodial title’. There are only a handful of States that still recognize it, but the basic idea is that once you’ve paid off all loans against your house/property, i.e., you own it ‘free and clear’, you would not have to pay the property tax. The Nevada Revised Statutes had a section on allodial title which I’ll cover in this article; not sure if it’s still there.
Realistically, today, most employers would not recognize someone who claims state citizenship but not US cit, however, with the current state of the country which seems to be getting worse, it wouldn’t surprise me if this possibility gains steam. There must be business owners that are so fed up with the federal gov that they would be open to contracting with state citizens that are not US cits. Who knows what the future has in store… ;-)
